Dear Cathedral Family,
Last Sunday concluded our inaugural Cathedral Concert Series. I am grateful to Julie Grace Males, Director of Music Ministry, for coordinating and executing the series. We are currently planning next season’s series, and I look forward to sharing the exciting lineup of musicians and concerts with all of you in the near future.
Cathedral Colloquium Series
The Cathedral Colloquium on Faith and Science concludes with Dr. Luigi Adamo’s presentation “Is There a Role for Jesus in 21st-Century Evidence-Based Medicine?” on Monday, May 8th at 7:00 PM in the Cathedral parish center. Dr. Adamo is the director of Cardiac Immunology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and he and his family are members of both the Cathedral parish and school.
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 6th, the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen will host Pregnancy Center North’s (PCN) 6th annual Walk for Life. It is not too late to join Cathedral's team or sponsor them in their efforts. This family-friendly event will include a 1-mile walk on the cathedral grounds, light refreshments, fun prizes, and more. Proceeds will fund the FREE, life-affirming services that Pregnancy Center North offers to women facing unexpected pregnancies. Brochures are available in the back of the church. Please see the website at
The Chosen Watch Party
Please join us for the next The Chosen Watch Party. This viewing will be a bit different than previous watch parties in that we will view two episodes each evening. Mark your calendars for the following dates: May 17, 18, 24, & 25 from 6:30-8:30 PM in the parish center.
Catholic Scripture Study
Please consider joining the Catholic Scripture Study group as they delve into the Book of Isaiah, which has been dubbed "The Fifth Gospel." Isaiah prophesied more than any other prophet the coming of the Messiah. Meetings will be on Wednesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:00 AM in the parish center. Registration is now open. Mother’s Day Novena Cards
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching. What better way to remember and honor our mothers, both living and deceased, than having Mass offered for them? Mass cards are available at the front desk in the parish center from May 1st – 11th. The parish center hours are M-F from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We will complete the Mass Intention envelopes at the time of purchase so that they can be placed on the altar from May 14th – 23rd. The customary donation is $10.00 per card.
May Rosary Intentions for the School of the Cathedral
Traditionally, the month of May is dedicated to honoring and seeking the intercession of the Blessed Mother. Each week the students of the Cathedral school will pray a rosary together and will be offering the intentions of the Cathedral community for Mary’s intercession. Submit any intentions you may have here www.cathedralofmary.org/prayer for the students of the School of the Cathedral and the Cathedral Prayer Team to bring to prayer throughout the month.
May God bless you.
