Dear Cathedral Family,
This Sunday we celebrate the solemn feast of Pentecost when the Apostles received the Holy Spirit to go forth preaching & teaching the Gospel message to all people, thus, inaugurating the Church. With this Feast, we conclude the Easter season. One of the great traditions of Pentecost that stretches back to the early centuries of the Church, yet is almost never celebrated anymore, is the celebration of the extended form of the Vigil of Pentecost. As part of the concluding celebration of Easter, the extended form also hearkens back to the first Mass of the Easter season - the Easter Vigil Mass. These two vigil Masses are like bookends of the Easter season.
The Pentecost Vigil Mass, like the Easter Vigil Mass, includes an extended number of readings and Psalms with an emphasis on the working of the Holy Spirit in salvation history. We will celebrate this extended form of the vigil this Saturday at the 5:00 PM Mass. Please consider joining us for this beautiful, yet rarely celebrated liturgy.

Pregnancy Center North Thanks You for Your Support
Pregnancy Center North’s staff, volunteers, and board members would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen parishioners who participated in the recent Walk for Life fundraiser, which raised more than $44,000. They extend a special thank you to Lisa Kantz, Julie and Leo Gabriele, and Isabella Marcelino for hosting us and making this event possible. The Cathedral team, led by Julie and Leo, raised a total of $1,820. These funds will be used to support the center’s FREE medical, educational, and resource programs that give women facing unplanned pregnancies the tools to choose life. For over 40 years, Pregnancy Center North has been serving moms and babies in the Baltimore area. The center is funded solely by donations and fundraisers such as this, so your support really does help save lives.
May God bless you.
